Engadget posts about the Motorola Defy, coming to Europe Q4 2010. Dust, scratch and impact-resistant, and conforms to the IP67 water spec, meaning half-an-hour at 1-meter water depth without leakage. Good size screen (3.7″ diagonal) and decent processor (800 MHz OMap, just a bit slower than the 1 GHz typical of the best units today). If you added a better GPS chipset/antenna, and a larger battery, you’d have a solidly awesome, field-friendly GPS unit ready to go. It’s only a matter of time
